We have extensive experience in counseling employers who contemplate a reduction in force or voluntary retirement program, and regularly assist clients in complying with numerous laws in these contexts, including the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act and the Older Workers Benefit Protection Act. We also routinely partner with our clients’ business advisors and transactional lawyers to advise them on the labor, employment, and benefits ramifications of mergers and acquisitions and how to best structure transactions to minimize labor and employment liability.
