Franczek Partners Publish Key Resource on Property Tax Litigation

K-12 Education Publications

We are delighted and proud to inform you that the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education (IICLE) has just released an updated edition of a property tax publication by Franczek partners Ares Dalianis and Scott Metcalf in its 2021 Edition of the Real Estate Litigation handbook.  This update is the 4th edition and provides a comprehensive overview of the law governing property tax litigation, with a focus on the rights and remedies available to both property owners and taxing districts.  Since its initial publication in 2008, this publication has become the definitive one-volume resource for Illinois attorneys in the property tax field.

The property tax is generally the primary source of revenue to fund local government operations and at the same time one of the largest expenses of property ownership. Understanding the process of how an assessment is established and reviewed and how it may be challenged or defended is essential information for Illinois attorneys.  This resource is the first IICLE publication to comprehensively discuss the rights of governmental bodies in assessment and tax rate litigation.

IICLE is a not-for-profit organization that for over 60 years has been dedicated to supporting the professional development of Illinois attorneys through Illinois-focused practice guidance and continuing legal education.

Please join us in recognizing Ares and Scott for their contributions to the legal profession with the publication of this key resource.
