Template Respiratory Protection Program Available From Franczek P.C.

Coronavirus K-12 Education

Recent guidance from the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) recommends the use of N95 masks for school nursing (Question #31) and custodial staff (Question #37) whose job duties may expose them to COVID-19, including COVID-19 symptoms. OSHA’s Respiratory Protection standard mandates that employers that require the use of N95’s have a written respiratory protection program. OSHA’s Respiratory Protection Standard applies not only to private sector employers but also to Illinois public sector employers under the Illinois Occupational Safety and Health Act, including public school districts.

While many of our clients are aware of the training and fit testing requirements for N95 use, the written program requirement is less widely understood. To assist our clients in complying with the written program requirement, we have developed a template respiratory protection program for purchase to assist with N95 mask use. Contact your Franczek attorney to discuss using and tailoring the program to meet your particular needs, and for any other assistance you may need while navigating the COVID-19 crisis.
