What does attorney development look like at Franczek?

Involvement in meaningful client work, right from the start.

As an associate or junior partner at Franczek, you can expect to work directly with senior partners who are recognized leaders in their fields. You can expect meaningful work opportunities and client contact, even in the early stages of your career.

Our associates regularly take active roles in administrative hearings and jury trials, handle depositions, negotiate collective bargaining agreements covering thousands of workers, and counsel clients on day-to-day emerging issues in the law. We believe this level of engagement to be key in the development of your own practice.

Support in developing your own business and brand.

We’re familiar with just how daunting the prospect of developing a book of business can be to a junior attorney. It is our mission to help you cultivate your personal brand so that business development becomes second nature.

Our attorneys frequently deliver public presentations and engage in charitable and bar activities. Many of us have been recognized with honors such as Crain’s Chicago Business’ Notable Minority Lawyers and Notable Women Attorneys, as well as the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin’s 40 Under 40.

An invitation to participate in firm leadership.

Our attorneys are highly involved at all levels of firm governance. We provide the members of our team with regular opportunities to participate in firm decision-making. Whether you’re eager to join one of our firm committees, such as the Social Committee or the Marketing and Public Relations Committee, or ready to take on another leadership role, like overseeing firm pro bono or continuing legal education progress, you’ll get firsthand experience with the business elements of legal practice.

An unconditional commitment to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

We have demonstrated that the richness of experiences and the variety of perspectives within a diverse and inclusive environment such ours yields more creative and effective business solutions. This creates value for our firm as well as our clients.

Our active diversity committee, chaired by the firm’s Diversity Officer focuses on promoting firm diversity, supporting diversity initiatives and policies, and developing additional diversity outreach both internally and externally. Our summer Legal Education for the Advancement of Diversity and Scholarship (“LEADS”) fellowship program, established in 2010, is a summer associate program for diverse law students that provides the firm a pipeline of talented diverse law students. We welcome and encourage diverse candidates to contact us for more information about career opportunities.

Respect for your value and your life outside the law.

Crain’s Chicago Business described us as “Good Lawyers and Good People” when our doors opened 25 years ago, and we’ve been recognized among Crain’s Best Places to Work in Chicago. We strive to maintain that reputation every day. We couldn’t accomplish our vision without fostering a respectful and collegial environment and respecting the interests and goals of our attorneys and staff both inside and outside of the workplace.
