James Petrungaro and Adam Dauksas Join Franczek P.C. as Partners

Franczek P.C. is pleased to announce that James Petrungaro and Adam Dauksas have joined the firm as a partners. James and Adam are joining the firm after years of providing high quality legal representation to their clients in all aspects of education and employment law.

Over nearly two decades, James Petrungaro has built a diverse practice in education law focusing on board governance, labor and employment, business practices, and student issues. James has an extensive litigation background at both the trial and appellate levels that make him a much sought-after ally and representative of educational institutions. He regularly represents boards of education in student disciplinary and employee due process proceedings and defends them in grievance arbitrations and from charges of unfair labor practices. His practice also includes tax rate referenda and guiding public officials on conflicts of interest and ethics. A 2006 graduate of Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in Washington, D.C., James clerked for the General Counsel’s Office of the National School Boards Association and for the General Counsel’s Office of the American Federation of Teachers, AFL-CIO.

Adam Dauksas focuses his practice on collective bargaining negotiations and advising his clients on the entire range of employment issues, from the work rules for school districts under the Illinois School Code to compliance with the Family and Medical Leave Act. Adam also has extensive experience litigating cases in both state and federal court as well as before administrative tribunals, including the Illinois Educational Labor Relations Board, the Illinois Department of Human Rights, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the National Labor Relations Board. Adam is a 2010 graduate of the University of Illinois Chicago Law School and a former standout basketball player at Illinois Weslyan University.
