Labor & Employment Publications

Join Franczek attorneys Sally ScottMike WarnerJason Patterson and renowned labor scholar Robert Bruno on September 22, 2022 for the first installment of our webinar series addressing the recent changes and trends in the labor movement. After years of decline, the labor movement is experiencing a surge triggered by labor shortages, changing worker attitudes about unionization, and the union-friendly Biden administration. In our kickoff webinar, we will discuss changes in how younger workers are viewing unions, new organizing strategies and tactics, the national and Chicago-area companies that are facing unionization, and whether the current trend will result in a substantial increase in unionization rates in the U.S.

Stay tuned for the announcement of part two of our series. Franczek attorneys Sally Scott, Mike Warner, Tracey Truesdale and Jason Patterson will lead an interactive discussion highlighting the NLRB’s General Counsel’s aggressive agenda, most notably the priority to change or modify existing law regarding union organizing campaigns. We will also discuss recent NLRB decisions, and the practical implications for both union and non-unionized employers moving forward.

Dr. Robert Bruno is a Professor of Labor and Employment Relations at the University of Illinois’ School of Labor and Employment Relations, Urbana-Champaign and Director of the university’s Labor Education Program.
