Franczek P.C. Partner Melissa Sobota Interviewed on WTTW
Franczek P.C. partner Melissa Sobota was interviewed on WTTW as part of her role as a Board Member for the Friendship Center food pantry, based in Chicago.
The Friendship Center has operated as a food pantry since 1970, providing food to neighbors in need. Today, the Friendship Center is open four days a week for grocery items and other staples. It operates a pantry dedicated to pet food and supplies the third Saturday of every month and serves a hot meal on Thursday evenings to anyone who visits.
According to WTTW, the COVID-19 pandemic has led to more demand at the Friendship Center food pantry. “Just in the last couple of weeks we’ve had our busiest single day that we’ve had in our entire 50-year history,” Melissa said. “We usually serve about 2,000 people on a monthly basis. That’s since doubled.” Watch Melissa’s full interview here and join us in applauding Melissa’s important volunteer work.
