Melissa Sobota will be speaking at the Annual Meeting and Member Education Conference of the National Academy of Arbitrators (“NAA”) in Seattle, Washington on May 1, 2025.

Her topic is “OFF-DUTY MISCONDUCT IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR” which is a critical area of focus in arbitration, as it balances the individual’s right to privacy with the employer’s interest in maintaining public trust and workplace integrity.

In her session, she will be joined by Jerry Manzullo, of Asher, Gilter & D’Alba., Ltd., and Arbitrator, Heidi Parker, and they will examine both the nature of the nexus between off-duty conduct and the employment relationship as well as the current state of arbitral law involving off-duty misconduct.
