Franczek Webinar—No Rest for the Weary: ISBE/IDPH’s Phase 4 Guidance in Practice
Recent joint guidance from ISBE/IDPH on Phase 4 reopening has raised considerable confusion and questions for schools. We know how hard school board members, superintendents, and other administrators and educators are working to make sense of the recommendations and mandates to prepare for a return to in-person instruction in the fall.
Our goal, as always, has been to help simplify and clarify the guidance for you. In our recent FAQ document, we answered 40 of your Phase 4 reopening questions, specifically addressing the Joint ISBE/IDPH Phase 4 Guidance. When ISBE subsequently issued its own FAQ with a number of changes and clarifications, we updated our FAQ and provided you a summary of major changes. We will continue to update our FAQ as changes come from ISBE/IDPH.
Now that we’ve answered your questions, let’s talk about how to apply those answers in practice. In this webinar, our panel of Franczek attorneys, including Shelli Anderson, Nicki Bazer, and Jackie Gharapour Wernz, are joined by special guests Dr. Ken Wallace, Superintendent of Maine Township 207, and Dr. Hank Thiele, Superintendent of Downers Grove 99.
Topics covered will include:
- Confusion about social distancing vs. face coverings, especially in the classroom
- Challenges of reopening
- Self-certification processes and verification
- Questions about self-quarantine, including when and for how long members of the school community must be excluded and sick leave questions for employees
- And many more!
