Dana Fattore Crumley and Jackie Wernz present ““Too Close For Comfort? Risky Relationships in Schools” at the at the American Association of School Personnel Administrators (AASPA) 81st Annual Conference in New Orleans. School leaders often overlook risky relationships until it’s too late. “Too close” relationships between school legal counsel and administrator, supervisors and subordinates, school employees and community members, and employees and students can lead to conflicts of interest, violations of duties and privacy expectations, the appearance of impropriety, or worse. This presentation provides legal insight on how to identify, prevent, and remedy the negative effects of “too close” relationships that can put school districts risk.
