Illinois Issues Phase 4 Guidelines and Business Toolkit

Coronavirus Labor & Employment

As all four regions of the State of Illinois work toward entering Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois Plan on June 26, 2020, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker released new guidelines today to help businesses and other activities safely reopen. The guidelines were created in consultation with public health officials and representatives from key business sectors. While some recommendations are applicable to all industries or businesses with offices, many are applicable to specific types of activities or sectors. For example, the guidelines address:

  • Indoor and outdoor recreation, meetings and social events, outdoor seated spectator events, and indoor dining;
  • Many sectors that have already begun reopening, including day camps, manufacturing, restaurants and bars, retail establishments, and personal care; and
  • New sectors such as health and fitness, museums and zoos, and theater and performing arts.

The guidelines direct businesses and activities to download and use a “business toolkit,” including signage to be posted on premises as well as checklists to be completed prior to reopening or commencing activities.
