Higher Education Labor & Employment

The Families First Coronavirus Response Act bill, which provides employees affected by coronavirus with paid sick leave and paid FMLA benefits, was passed by the Senate and signed by President Trump yesterday. The leave provisions in the Act apply to employers with fewer than 500 employees and government employers. The emergency paid sick leave and paid FMLA provisions of the Act will take effect on April 2, 2020. Our summary of the leave provisions of the law can be found here.

This afternoon, we are hosting a webinar at 2pm Central to discuss the Act and how to comply. This webinar is essential for all employers with fewer than 500 employees and government employers, including municipalities and school districts. You can register for the webinar and submit questions on how this Act will impact your organization here.
