Erin represents both private and public sector clients on the full range of their labor and employment needs.
Erin regularly litigates in state and federal court in Illinois and Indiana. She defends employers against individual and class action lawsuits arising from Title VII, the ADA, the ADEA, Illinois BIPA and data protection laws, and contractual disputes. Erin’s litigation experience also includes representation of clients before federal and state agencies including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Illinois Department of Human Rights.
Erin has extensive counseling experience, serving clients on day-to-day matters as well as providing guidance for implementing employment policies, hiring/firing actions, and COVID-19 procedures. Erin regularly reviews and drafts policies on behalf of clients. She has been the primary employment legal counsel for companies without internal legal departments.
Erin conducts training for managerial employees concerning updates in local, state, and federal laws and the employers compliance with such laws. Erin has also conducted training on issues related to Title IX for higher education institutions.
Erin actively participates in pro bono work, where she has represented several refugee status asylum applicants as well as drafted an amicus brief to the Eighth Circuit advocating for incarcerated adults against a state’s failure to follow proper procedures in considering the parole release of the offenders who were convicted of life sentences from crimes committed when they were minors. Erin particularly enjoys serving as a Guardian ad Litem on behalf of minor children. Erin also serves on the Board of a community-based organization.
