Mark represents both private and public sector employers in all aspects of labor and employment law including general litigation.  He counsels employers on labor law issues including responding to union organizing campaigns, defending against unfair labor practice charges, grievance arbitration and collective bargaining.  Mark has extensive employment law experience that focuses on employment litigation involving discrimination claims and wage and hour suits, and general employer counseling.  He represents employers in federal and state courts, and in proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the U.S. Department of Labor, and other federal and state administrative bodies.

Prior to joining the firm, Mark was an associate at Keller Thoma P.C. in Detroit, where he litigated numerous labor and employment matters on behalf of business, government and non-profit entities.  He served as a law clerk to the Honorable Richard A. Enslen, U.S. District Court judge for the Western District of Michigan.

During law school, Mark was awarded the Silver Key for academic excellence, the NLRB (Region Seven) Gottfried Labor Law Award, and served as the managing editor of The Wayne Law Review.  Mark has been a contributing editor to The Developing Labor Law (Fifth Edition), 2010 and 2011 Cumulative Supplements.  He also authored an article published in the law review, “National Hockey League Players’ Association v. Plymouth Whalers: Antitrust’s Rule of Reason and the Van Ryn Rule.” 50 Wayne L. Rev. 1277 (2004).

Mark is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, American Bar Association (Labor & Employment Law Section), Federal Bar Association (Young Lawyers Division Publication Committee) and the Illinois and Michigan state Bar Associations (Labor & Employment Law Sections).  He is also a member of the Western Michigan University “W” Club.

While at Western Michigan University, Mark was a four-year varsity letter winner in ice hockey and was named Western Michigan University’s Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2001.  He continues to enjoy playing sports of all kinds, specifically golf, and spending time with friends and family.
