Workplace Enforcement/I-9 Verification of Work Authorization

We counsel employers in unionized and non-unionized workforces in addressing challenges to I-9 (verification of work authorization) compliance. Specifically, we assist employers in designing and conducting self-audits that comply with guidance from the Departments of Homeland Security and Justice while minimizing the risk of civil or other forms of liability. We also represent employers undergoing government audits by the Department of Justice or Immigration and Customs Enforcement by assessing and providing objective guidance regarding risk and foreseeing liability and breadth of investigation into other areas of related employment law compliance, including wage and hour issues.
