Background Checks: What Employers Need To KnowFR Webinar
June 21, 2012
In April, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) released the first updates in nearly 25 years to its guidelines on when and how employers may inquire into an applicant's arrest and conviction history. According to the EEOC, the new Guidance clarifies and updates the EEOC's longstanding policy concerning the use of arrest and conviction records in employment.
In this webinar, Franczek Radelet attorney Mike Warner will moderate a discussion among firm attorneys Staci Ketay Rotman, Terry Creamer and Doug Hass. The discussion will focus on the legal requirements and risks that employers face when using background checks to screen applicants. Topics will include:
- The EEOC's New Enforcement Guidance on the Use of Arrest and Conviction Records
- State Laws Regulating the Use of Background Checks
- What Employers Who Rely on Background Checks Need to Know About the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)
