Kendra, who joins the firm’s Education Practice Team, previously served as Assistant Attorney General at the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia, where she worked on special education matters with the District of Columbia public schools.

Hamilton Southeastern Schools, Franklin Township Community Schools and Middlebury Community Schools, filed a lawsuit in Hamilton County against the State of Indiana arguing that their schools are not receiving sufficient funding as a result of the State’s long-held school funding formula.

On August 25, 2009, Franczek Radelet attorneys successfully obtained a temporary restraining order on behalf of Argo Community High School District No. 217 and Indian Springs School District No. 109. The order allows approximately 260 students to board school buses from safe locations near their homes within the apartment complex, rather than at a bus stop on a busy, industrial street.

After more than a decade of litigation, the Champaign Community Unit School District No. 4 Board of Education in Champaign, IL approved a Settlement Agreement that ended a voluntary federal Consent Decree. The decree stems from complaints filed with the Office of Civil Rights by African-American Plaintiffs in 1996, which alleged racial discrimination.
