Franczek Radelet attorneys Darcy Kriha and Jennifer Smith were quoted in the article "More students qualify for education plans" that appeared on the front page of the Northwest Herald on December 17, 2009.  Darcy and Jennifer hosted "The New Section 504" seminar for McHenry County earlier this year.  The article discusses the reaction of school personnel to the information that the Franczek Radelet attorneys provided about the amendment to Section 504 of the federal Rehabilitation Act.

The Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments of 2008 significantly broadened which students will qualify for protection under Section 504.  The program will review the new requirements governing eligibility, programming, discipline and parent/students rights.

The Franczek Radelet Special Education Practice Team held a series of special programs in September, October and November of 2009 to inform clients and education sector employees about the recent changes to Section 504.  Click here to view the event archive posting.
