Franczek Radelet Welcomes New Associate

May 28, 2015

Franczek Radelet is pleased to welcome Katelan Little as an associate in its Higher Education and Labor & Employment Practice Groups.

Katelan focuses a majority of her practice on representing higher education institutions, both public and private, in labor, employment, faculty, and student matters. She defends colleges, universities, graduate schools, and academic medical centers in a wide range of cases, with a particular emphasis on issues arising under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the National Labor Relations Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act. She also counsels and advises clients about proactive compliance and risk assessment, helping them to update policies, conducting in-house training, and engaging in internal investigation. Her experience extends to traditional labor matters for higher education institutions, including union organizing efforts on campus.

“Katelan’s practice is an ideal mix of higher education, including student issues, as well as labor and employment matters—it melds perfectly with our existing practice,” commented Ellen Babbitt, co-chair of the Firm’s Higher Education Practice Group.

Katelan previously served as the inaugural student intern at Northwestern University’s Office of General Counsel, where she gained exposure to and experience in the broad spectrum of legal issues facing colleges and universities. She earned her J.D, magna cum laude, from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, and her B.A., summa cum laude, from Northwestern University, (history and legal studies), Phi Beta Kappa.
