Franczek Radelet is very pleased and extremely proud to announce that our colleague Andrea Waintroob has been nominated by Governor Bruce Rauner to serve as Chair of the Illinois Educational Labor Relations Board (IELRB). Pending Senate confirmation, the Governor will appoint her acting Chair. This appointment reflects Andrea’s many accomplishments over the years and the respect she enjoys in the educational community.

For more than 35 years, Andrea has practiced in all aspects of labor and employment law with a specific focus on labor relations and negotiations, including equal employment opportunity, union management relations, remediation, and dismissal of employees and wrongful discharge claims. She also has had the opportunity to handle constitutional issues and student rights for her clients, which have included school districts throughout Illinois, other public sector entities, as well as private sector employers. Andrea is a true student of labor and employment law.

Andrea has served as Chair of the Illinois Council of School Attorneys. She has lectured at the University of Chicago Law School and Graduate School of Business on labor relations and employment discrimination. She earned her J.D., with honors, from the University of Chicago Law School and her B.A., cum laude, in American Civilization from Brown University.

We applaud Governor Rauner for his wise choice. We are confident that Andrea will serve with great distinction as chair of the IELRB. She will resign from the firm immediately upon her appointment as acting Chair.
