Two Attorneys Join Franczek RadeletMarch 26, 2012
CHICAGO, IL (March 26, 2012) — Franczek Radelet is pleased to announce that Julie Heuberger Yura and Ellen Wetmore recently joined the firm. Julie rejoins the firm’s Education Practice Team as Of Counsel. Ellen, who joins the firm’s Higher Education Practice Team, was previously a staff attorney in the Office of the General Counsel at DePaul University.
Julie represents public school districts on a broad range of school law issues with an emphasis on student discipline, special education, school residency requirements, and the rights of homeless students. She has first-chaired several administrative hearings and argued school law cases before federal and local courts. Julie previously practiced at Franczek Radelet from 2000 to 2009. She earned her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law in 1998 and her B.A., with honors, from the University of Iowa in 1995.
Ellen represents and counsels higher education institutions in a wide variety of areas, including employment and tenure matters, student affairs, institutional policies, and legal compliance. At DePaul, Ellen assisted with pending and potential litigation; advised on university policies, procedures, and legal compliance; and drafted, reviewed, and negotiated contracts on behalf of the university. She earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School in 2010 and her B.A., cum laude, from Whitman College in 2004.
