David A. Johnson, formerly with the City of Chicago, has joined the law firm of Franczek Radelet as a partner. Mr. Johnson, Chief Labor Negotiator for the City for more than five years, is the fifth attorney to join Franczek Radelet in 2010.

Mr. Johnson began working for the City of Chicago in November 1985 after working in private practice at two small law firms in Chicago following law school. Beginning as a senior supervisory attorney in the City’s labor division, Mr. Johnson rose to Chief Labor Negotiator in August 2004, his most recent position at the City. In this capacity, he served as the primary labor counsel for the City which covers more than 35,000 employees in 40+ bargaining units. He played a leading role in more than 50 union contract negotiations and served as lead counsel in more than 200 labor arbitrations while with the City. Mr. Johnson is a 1980 graduate of the University of Illinois-College of Law, and he earned his B.A. in history from Michigan State University.
Franczek Radelet P.C. was established in 1994 when 12 attorneys came together to form the Chicago boutique law firm.
