Chicago Tribune: What does deal for Chicago’s Republic Windows & Doors workers mean?

The Chicago Tribune reports that after Republic Windows & Doors employees voted unanimously to accept a $1.75 million settlement agreement, thereby ending a six-day plant sit-in that garnered national media attention, they have been unable to obtain a commitment to reopen their workplace.  The union has nevertheless forged ahead in attempts to find a new employer to run the business.
