Share

December 9, 2008

David Brooks for The New York Times discusses the varying viewpoint differences on key education reform issues amongst Obama’s likely Secretary of Education candidates. Among those noted include: current leader of the Obama-Biden education transition team Linda Darling-Hammond; campaign adviser and Chief Executive Officer of New Leaders for New Schools Jon Schnur; D.C. Chancellor Michelle Rhee; Chicago Public Schools Superintendent Arne Duncan; and New York City Schools Chancellor Joel Klein. In a separate editorial, the Chicago Tribune also assesses the top candidates for the position, and urges Obama to select "a bold agent of change," namely Arne Duncan.
