Liberal Wish Lists Set For Obama Administration

Both the Chicago Tribune and the Washington Post recently reported on the exponential increase in optimism felt by progressive and liberal groups as the political climate begins to change in Washington.  Such groups, which for years have met staunch resistance from the outgoing administration, are buoyed by the prospects their member initiatives have in a Democratic administration led by President-elect Obama.  These groups expect to find welcome support for their main proposals, or "wish lists," which include making it easier for unions to organize workers under the Employee Free Choice Act and expanding the reach of federal antidiscrimination laws.
