DOL Criticized For Lack Of Enforcement; Changes Likely Under Obama

A December 1 Washington Post article reports on criticism that the Department of Labor has strayed from enforcement across a range of issues, including wage and hour and workplace safety.  According to the article, budget constraints and a focus on compliance assistance have resulted in reduced enforcement efforts in most areas, with the notable exception of oversight of labor unions.  President-Elect Obama has promised to step up enforcement of workplace regulations.
