Obama Selects Mary Beth Maxwell for Department Of Labor Post

President Obama selected Mary Beth Maxwell to serve as a senior advisor within the Department of Labor.   The Wall Street Journal, in an online blog article, reports that the selection marks another plus for labor unions as the new administration’s labor department fills out. 

In her new position, Maxwell will work with the White House Task Force on Middle Class and Working Families.  Maxwell currently serves as the executive director of American Rights at Work, a labor organization, which The Wall Street Journal reports is the organization leading the lobbying charge on Capitol Hill to enact the Employee Free Choice Act.
