U.S. Secretary of Education Recommends Longer School Days and School Year

The Washington Post reports Education Secretary Arne Duncan recently told a group of 400 middle and high school Denver public school students that American schoolchildren need more class time in order to compete with students abroad. Secretary Duncan recommended that schools be open longer during the day, week, and year. The article also discusses Secretary Duncan’s recent talks on vouchers and school choice.
