Web site names Illinois' best schools based on parent ratings, test scores

According to Greatschools.com, a web-based school evaluation service, Northside College Prep, a selective-enrollment Chicago Public School is ranked as the state's top high school based on academic performance and test scores. Brooks College Prep, another Chicago selective-enrollment high school, was ranked as the state's best performing low-income school. St. Ignatius College Prep, a private Jesuit high school, and Crystal Lake Central High School, were selected as the top private and public high schools in the parents' choice category. Downstate Warsaw Senior High School was named the state's most improved school based on test scores.
