Further Update on the Republic Windows Saga

January 20, 2009

The Chicago Tribune, Crain's Chicago Business, and the Chicago Sun-Times have recently reported on the latest development regarding the Republic Windows labor dispute.  Approximately one month after a six-day sit-in by employees over lost severance and vacation wages, the company is close to being sold.  Serious Materials, a California building materials company, is negotiating the purchase of Republic Window’s assets and intends to offer jobs to the 250 employees who lost theirs when the company closed.
