Update on the Republic Windows Saga

In recent articles, both the Chicago Tribune and Crain’s Chicago Business report on the most recent events concerning the Republic Windows dispute. One month following a six-day sit-in by employees, the union representing those workers filed an unfair labor practice charge with the National Labor Relations Board against Republic Windows. In that charge, the union alleges that the employer failed to notify or negotiate with employees about the closing of the Chicago plant and the transferring of machinery and business to a new plant in Iowa.
