New York Times: Bill Easing Unionizing is Under Heavy Attack

The New York Times reports that in an effort to block the Employee Free Choice Act from being voted into law, corporations are donating to lobbying groups. A recent advertisement featured by one of the corporate lobbying groups offered that if secret ballots were good enough to elect Barack Obama then they should be good enough for union members, too. Despite the corporate lobby’s efforts, the legislation still has strong backing from high ranking members of Congress, including Senate majority leader Harry Reid of Nevada.
