Associated Press: Democrats Strike Early with Labor Rights Bills

The Associated Press reports that Congressional Democrats are working quickly to promote labor rights issues that they argue have been thwarted during the Bush administration. On Friday, January 9, 2009, Democrats introduced two pay discrimination bills on the House floor. These bills, the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act and the Paycheck Fairness Act, could be among the first legislation that President-Elect Obama signs into law after he takes office.
