Washington Post: Under Bush, OSHA Mired in Inaction

Citing current and former career OSHA officials, The Washington Post reports that during the Bush administration, political appointees slowed and altered health regulations in response to industry pressure. From 2001 to 2007, the Post reports, OSHA officials issued 86 percent fewer rules or regulations termed economically significant by the Office of Management and Budget than their counterparts did during a similar period in Bill Clinton's tenure.
