Dana Fattore Crumley
Dana represents school districts with respect to general matters of education law, with an emphasis in the areas of employment and personnel matters, special education, student discipline, and school board policy and governance.
Dana is a member of the Illinois Council of School Attorneys and National Council of School Attorneys, the Chicago Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD).
Dana frequently speaks on a wide range of education law topics, including teacher employment and dismissal, special education, student records and confidentiality, and student discipline. She has taught school law classes at Loyola University’s Graduate School of Education, the University of Illinois at Chicago and Roosevelt University.
Prior to joining the firm, Dana was employed as a public school teacher. She is currently serving as the Vice President of the Board of Education of Winnetka Public School District 36, where her children attend school. Dana is also a member of the Chicago Local Advisory Board for New Leaders for New Schools, an education reform group dedicated to training principals to serve in urban school districts. Since 2008, she has been identified a “rising star” in the field of education law by Illinois Super Lawyers.

- Provides counsel and guidance on all aspects of teacher personnel matters, including evaluation, discipline and dismissal, and employee rights under federal and state laws including the Family and Medical Leave Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
- Serves as lead counsel in special education due process hearings regarding placement, programming and services provided to students with autism spectrum disorders, emotional disorders, learning disabilities, cognitive impairments and students with disabilities served in early childhood programs.
- Counsels school districts on all aspects of student rights, including student discipline, First Amendment Rights, and student record and confidentiality issues.
