Anne Wilson Lokken concentrates
her practice in the area of school law, with emphasis in the
areas of special education, employment discrimination, and
constitutional law. She has counseled school districts on
a broad spectrum of matters including special education, student
discipline, First Amendment, student residency, student records,
employment discrimination and various personnel matters. In
the area of special education, Ms. Wilson Lokken has represented
school districts in federal litigation and due process hearings,
and has participated in individualized education program conferences.
She has also represented school districts in federal employment
discrimination litigation. Ms. Wilson Lokken is co-author
of School Reconstitution and Its Labor Implications: A
Survey of School Districts, an article published in the
National School Boards Association's 1998 School Law
in Review.
Prior to joining Franczek Sullivan P.C., Ms. Wilson Lokken
was employed by Scariano, Ellch, Himes and Petrarca, Chtd.
(1995-98) where she practiced exclusively school law. She
received her law degree from DePaul University College of
Law in 1997, where she was the managing notes editor of the
DePaul Journal of Health Care Law. She received her certificate
in health law from DePaul University in 1997, and a bachelor
of arts degree in economics from Drake University in 1994.
Ms. Wilson Lokken was the 2000-2001 co-chair of the Chicago
Bar Association's School Law Committee, and is an active
member of the National and Illinois Councils of School Attorneys.
She is admitted to practice in Illinois, and before the United
States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and United
States District Courts for the Northern, Central and Southern
Districts of Illinois.
