Deidra A. Norris concentrates her practice in general labor and employment and in education law matters. She is licensed in the State of Illinois, the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois and the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals.


She is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel and the Black Women Lawyers Association. She has volunteered for the Champaign County Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) as the attorney and guardian ad litem for minors in the abuse and neglect court.  In November 2007, she was awarded the George Frampton Award for Service for her work with CASA.


In addition to her legal activities, she is a violinist who has performed with the Champaign-Urbana Symphony, Prairie Ensemble, Kingwood Pops Orchestra, Scott Joplin Orchestra, and San Angelo Symphony.


Ms. Norris joined Franczek Sullivan P.C. in April 2008. Prior to joining Franczek Sullivan, Ms. Norris worked for Thomas, Mamer & Haughey, LLP in Champaign, Illinois in the areas of insurance, professional liability, and civil rights defense.  Ms. Norris received a Bachelor of Music in Performance from Baylor University in Waco, Texas in 2000.  She is a 2006 graduate of the University of  Illinois College of Law, where she was nominated for the Rickert Award for Excellence in Advocacy in both 2005 and 2006, and won the award in 2006.
