Andrew A. Malahowski represents both private and public sector employers in all areas of employee benefits and labor law. Mr. Malahowski's practice covers a broad range of employee benefits matters, including qualification, administration, and design of defined benefit, defined contribution, and health and welfare plans. He counsels clients with respect to matters under the Illinois Pension Code, including the Teachers' Retirement System, the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund, and the State Universities Retirement System.  Mr. Malahowski counsels school districts with respect to all areas of school benefits law, including 403(b) and 457(b) plans, cafeteria and flexible spending plans, fringe benefit plans, COBRA, and payroll tax issues.  Mr. Malahowski has also represented clients in a variety of labor law matters including collective bargaining negotiations and discharge and contract interpretation disputes before labor arbitrators.

Mr. Malahowski joined Franczek Sullivan P.C. in May 2005. Prior to that, he practiced in the labor and employment department of Winston & Strawn LLP (2002–2005). Mr. Malahowski graduated magna cum laude in 2002 from the University of Notre Dame Law School, and received his Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from Notre Dame in 1999. He has been a contributing editor for the Developing Labor Law (BNA), and has contributed articles for the Employment Law Strategist.
