Karen K. Hynes represents
school districts with respect to general matters of education
law, including special education, employment and personnel
matters, student and teacher discipline, student records and
confidentiality, and school safety.
Ms. Hynes joined Franczek Sullivan, P.C. in October 2002.
She received her law degree cum laude from Loyola University
of Chicago Law School in May 2002, where she was the Articles
Editor of the Children's Legal Rights Journal and was a member
of the Juvenile Moot Court Team. She also received a Certificate
in Childlaw and honors for her work in Property, Civil Procedure,
Constitutional Law and Children and the Law. She obtained
her undergraduate degree in Special Education at the University
of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana in 1992. Prior to attending
law school, Ms. Hynes taught special education at Crete-Monee
Middle School and was a Severe-Profound City-Wide Itinerant
with the Chicago Public Schools. She is a member of the Chicago
Bar Association.
