Brianne Dunn is an associate in the Education practice group at Franczek P.C. Her practice includes advising and representing K-12 education clients on a wide range of education, labor, and employment law matters, including board governance, freedom of information and open meetings laws, contracts, collective bargaining, student rights and responsibilities, special education, discrimination and harassment, and general personnel issues.
Before joining Franczek, Bri was the Lead Counsel for the Noble Network of Charters Schools. In that role, Bri advised Noble’s CEO, Board, and Network Chief on legal matters, network policies, CPS interrelated policies and governance, public relations matters, and crisis management on complex public issues. Bri also provided counsel and coordination on internal legal matters to administrators and other school leaders and personnel across the charter network’s 18 campuses.
Bri is a graduate of the Loyola University Chicago School of Law. In law school, Bri was a recipient of the Civitas Childlaw Fellowship, a three-year program for students selected based on academic ability, leadership potential, and a commitment to using their legal training to promote child welfare. Bri’s interest in education law and policy began prior to law school. She was a high school teacher for both a traditional public high school and a charter school for seven years. She taught and supported students in a variety of special education settings, including a self-contained classroom. She received the National Sontag Award for Urban Education in 2011 and 2012 for her excellence in teaching. Bri received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a certificate in Philosophies and Ethics of Politics, Law, and Economics from the University of Iowa.
Bri is active in the education community and is especially passionate about working with youth interested in pursuing careers in law and policy. In her spare time, Bri enjoys spending time with her daughter.
